Darren and Chelsea’s Borders Wedding

Congratulations to Rugby duo Darren and Chelsea who were married in August. A talented rugby star but with regular red and yellow cards for ill-discipline (Darren’s described as a talented player too!) the couple were married in the picturesque village Church of Morebattle and then held their ceremony at Jedburgh Rugby club.

A native of New Zealand, Chelsea asked for Wedding Photography that captured features of the Borders Countryside. In addition to Darren’s family and teammates, Chelsea’s party made the long journey from New Zealand making it a memorable day! Some of the lovely shots taken during their wedding.

David and Hayley’s Borders Wedding, Coldstream Runningburn Marquee Venue

Congratulations to David and Hayley who were married late June in St Mary & All Souls Church, Coldstream. Their reception was at Runningburn Marquee Venue.

It now seems a long time ago but it was one of those scorching hot weekends and a huge thanks must go to the couple for braving the fearsome sunshine everyone was experiencing back then.

They’re very much part of the Borders farming community, and David along with his father, are the proud owners of thirteen vintage tractors. (When do they get the time to drive them all!) Naturally, along with their gorgeous daughter, they played a big part during their day.

Ross and Natalie’s Wedding, Haddington, East Lothian

Congratulations to Ross and Natalie who were married in July at St Mary’s Parish Church in Haddington, East Lothian with their reception held in the nearby Maitlandfield House Hotel.

We were in the middle of the Summer heatwave and as well as providing a great setting the Church offered a cool place to work when the temperatures were soaring outside.

Here are a few favourites from their wedding.

Linzi and Scott’s, Galashiels, Scottish Borders Wedding

Congratulations to Linzi and Scott who were married in Galashiels in May. Their service included a traditional Scottish hand tying ceremony and a magician kept everyone entertained after dinner and before evening guests started to arrive.

They did had a late scare though – finding out that their photo venue was double booked with only a day to go!! A last minute alternative was found and what results – here a few of our favourites from the day!

Styled Wedding Photography Shoot at The Haining Estate

Every year I try to undertake a styled wedding photo shoot which offers an opportunity to test equipment or try out new photo techniques – without the pressures of being a ‘live job’.

Late Autumn last year, we tested a couple of lenses one of which was bought for the forthcoming wedding season, the other hired in. Our studio and the grounds of the Haining Estate, Selkirk provided the setting.

Louise was our fantastic model for the day and Christine at Scent flowers, Galashiels helped supply beautiful Autumnal bouquets

All our wedding packages include a considerable number of photos supplied in black and white in addition to all the full-colour versions. When processed this way they often take on a classic, timeless appearance.

Of course, this was helped considerably on our shoot by Louise’s fantastic platted hairstyle – created by the talented Rachael Jack, it looked great despite very windy conditions outside!
